I hope that you are moving into this season of your life with great expectancy. Here in Ohio, we are gearing up for summertime. Graduates are turning their tassels, runners are training for their races, and creatives are collecting for summertime pop-ups. Hearts are outdoors beautifying their homes and tree frogs are lulling us to sleep. I love the buzz of all this amazing energy!
At Cool Creative Press, we are celebrating our ability to be students of this wild and crazy ride called life. Our hats go off to the grads in the world. Cheers to moving through this season of your life. I hope you can feel our excitement as we watch you walk forward on your path. I love these words from the late Steve Jobs:
“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way
to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work.
And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.
If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.
As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”
Love what you do. Those words echo off the walls of my heart. How about you? I feel the encouragement to continually re-define and re-align the vision of my life, and hope you will, too. If you begin walking down one path and you venture off onto another, can you see it as a new adventure? Can you hear life calling your name? Maybe you allow your perspective to shift.
When it comes down to it, aren’t we all students of this Earth? In some seasons there is the walk to receive the diploma. In other seasons our reward might be a hug from our child or permission to cry the tears we have been needing to cry.
Life is always inviting us into the classroom and asking us to muster our willingness to learn something new about ourselves. Maybe it is noticing how we are in relationship with the world. Maybe life is calling our name, inviting us to new adventure. Or perhaps, as in Ode to Love, life is whispering “Go with the flow my love.”
One of my favorite sentiments is the thought that I know nothing, but I want to know everything. I want to be a curious soul all the days of my life. I want my life to come alive like a concert at The Red Rocks—each moment of life needed to get me to this specific point in time. Don’t settle my beautiful friends. Keep creating space to inquire of your gorgeous heart. What great work are you here to do?
Have the courage to lean into these invitations:
- “What is your dream for this lifetime?”
- “When you are not being who the world wants you to be, who are you?”
- “What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?”
I love questions. I adore quotes. I need inspiration surrounding me like my great aunt’s quilt wrapped around my shoulders as I savor a cup of coffee. This beautiful life is yours for the creating, no matter the age or the stage. May the heat of summer re-inspire you to believe in the work of your life. There is only one you. Bring your love to life.
Cheers to Choosing Fierceness!
